Parameters for the Planning of the Radbahn

The Radbahn runs along the centre of the road and assumes the role of a tram, in terms of traffic organization. For this reason, questions concerning the design of the route and, above all, of the rights of way, are answered using comparisons to the tram system, which has been implemented all over Berlin. Technically, the Radbahn is a structurally separate bifurcated bike path. The usual stipulations for such paths should therefore be taken into consideration for the design and implementation of the Radbahn, particularly the regulations of the Road and Transportation Research Association (Forschungsgesellschaft für Straßen- und Verkehrswesen, FGSV):
